Coastal Nights is the debut album from Frionis — an instrumental project built around nylon-string guitar, melodic bass, organic percussion, and modern grooves.

The album began with a simple idea: capturing the feeling of coastal evenings — those moments when the day gives way to night and everything takes on a different character.

Over the course of writing, recording, refining, and developing the music, Coastal Nights became a collection of songs where acoustic warmth, rhythmic movement, and thoughtful arrangements come together naturally.

The songs grew from the character of the instruments themselves — the warmth of nylon strings, the movement of percussion, the depth of bass, and the space between the notes where the music can breathe.

Crafting The Sound Of Coastal Nights

For Coastal Nights, that feeling was warmth, movement, and the space between sunset and nightfall. The album was not created to fit into a single category, but to explore the connection between rhythm, melody, and atmosphere.

At the heart of the Frionis sound is a Ramirez flamenco guitar built in 1969. With decades of history behind it, this guitar brings warmth, character, and expressiveness to the album. Its voice carries the intimacy of nylon strings while allowing every nuance of touch, rhythm, and phrasing to become part of the music.

Around this foundation, the album brings together a rich palette of sounds that expand the character of Frionis. Melodic bass, organic percussion, powerful drums, and the warmth of a Hammond B3 organ create a contrast between intimacy and energy — bringing together vintage character and modern production.

Every instrument was chosen for what it could contribute to the overall feeling of the music. Nothing was added simply for decoration; each sound has a purpose within the composition.

The result is a blend of old and new — a vintage instrument with decades of character combined with modern production and a wide musical palette.
